The Position
The Technician Development & Process Optimization (D&PO) supports the development of processes and/or the analysis for the manufacturing of recombinant proteins with CHO cultures by executing experiments, preparing materials, and collecting data
Your Responsibilities
  • Conduct experiments and apply standard laboratory practices under moderate guidance and supervision within scope and timelines.
  • Document executed work in accordance to internal guidelines.
  • Support troubleshooting activities in collaboration with Subject Matter Experts.
  • Document batch results with a critical mind.
  • Write protocols, SOPs, using available templates.
  • Drive simple initiatives (in relation to job duties) with limited guidance and supervision within his/her team/group
  • Support technology transfer activities if needed.
  • Follows all EHS procedures and laboratory safety standards, maintains a clean and safe workspace, and promptly reports any unsafe conditions, incidents, or near misses.
Job Requirements
  • Degree in biology, biotechnology, chemistry, life science or related and relevant field.
  • Hands-on knowledge in at least one of the following areas: CLD, USP, DSP and/or Analytical Services.
    Application of basic experimental design principles (e.g., DoE, scale-own models, process characterization fundamentals).
  • Data collection and report writing, confident in the use of IT tools.
  • Preparation of media and buffers, including pH adjustment, sterile filtration and accurate weighing
  • Aseptic techniques and working in biosafety cabinets.
  • Operation and basic maintenance of laboratory equipment.
  • Sample handling and preparation.
  • Use of general analysis instruments.
  • Good communication skills (English mandatory, German is a plus).
  • Meticulous, attention to details.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment.
  • Ability to deal with changes and quickly adjust to new situations.
  • Collaborative team player.
